Whether a DIY route will work for you will depend on your strengths. “If you know what you like and you know what makes you tick, you’ll love everything you choose,” said interior designer Alana Homesley of Woodland Hills. And you can do the project in stages, as the funds allow, and you will not face the challenge of trying to pass on your likes and dislikes to a stranger.
The evil of decorating your own home
The DIY route will not save you money. Decorating can be a time-consuming proposal with a steep learning curve and a large number of decisions that need to be made. What is your time? Will that expiration prepare the savings? If you make a mistake and have something to do again, will you lose your savings?
Benefits of hiring an interior designer
Hiring an interior designer will give you access to a wide selection of only commercial goods, fabrics, and wall coverings that you may never see, as well as the services of the workshops and the people who sell the designer you have developed relationships with over the years. You can end up having a beautiful home tailored to your tastes and lifestyle, and given the pieces chosen by the artist for their beauty, quality and durability.

“If you have a budget, that’s the way to go, because you’ll have something you usually do,” Homesley said.
“Having someone to confirm your decisions is really a wonderful thing,” says designer Amy Luff of Viva Luxe Studios. “Designers can save money. And they can save you from paying for something. ”
Just because someone has been on the cover of the magazine, Luff sees, does not mean you will be ready for your home. It is therefore extremely important that you love and trust your designer, and above all, good communication with him. Be clear about your budget in advance, don’t apologize and don’t make excuses. Do not hire someone who is accustomed to high budgets and expect them to buy from you at budget stores. On the other hand, don’t expect a low budget start to deliver results as a top-level pro. Let them help you to decorate your home with good experince.
There is a sense of accomplishment associated with decorating your own home that you would not feel if you paid someone to do the work for you. A good designer will involve you in this process, however, and make you feel like you are playing a big part in the outcome.
3.Work with a visual designer. A growing number of designers have hung their shingles online. You send them photos or a plan of your home, and they offer a consultation for a certain amount of money, without having to meet with you (or your home) in person. You should decorate your home with love and passion.
4. If you have a favorite furniture store, check out that we offer free interior decorating services. Some stores will work with you on your project free of charge, although you will need to find furniture in that store. “If you really like the stuff in this store, it’s a good way to go,” Homesley said.
